Join HWRC managers from over 100 sites for a community-led webinar.

You’ll hear insights from David Rodgers, Waste Authority Lead at Essex County Council, and Hannah Allard, Insight and Development Manager at Kent County Council.

Session Overview:

Most councils see booking systems as a smart move—they cut costs, boost efficiency, and curb misuse.

But for some residents, they’re just an unnecessary ‘hurdle’.

This session shows you how to change that perception.

We’ll break down common objections and highlight the undeniable benefits for residents—helping you turn booking into a win for everyone.

See how Kent and Essex turned sceptics into supporters, boosted satisfaction, and proved that booking can work for residents too.

What You’ll Learn:

Kent’s Blueprint For Building Resident-Centric Waste Services:

In 2021, Kent County Council asked over 10,500 residents how they felt about booking HWRC visits.

The verdict? 45% opposed it. 6% were indifferent.

Fast-forward to 2025:

• 96% are now satisfied or extremely satisfied.
• 96% say booking is easy or extremely easy.
• 97% get a booking when they want—or on a date that works.

So, how did KCC turn sceptics into supporters?

Hannah will share how her team turned data and feedback into a booking system residents trust—and WANT to use.

Why The Approach You Choose Is Critical To Getting Buy-In:

David Rodgers, Waste Authority Lead at Essex County Council, will reveal how your approach to booking can make or break resident buy-in. He’ll then share a striking before-and-after comparison, showing how the right tools and site strategy can transform both resident and staff experiences.

Why Residents Object and How To Win Them Over:

We’ll break down perception vs. reality, debunk myths like booking reduces convenience, limits access, or increases fly-tipping, and show you how to counter them.

And that’s just the start.

Expect practical strategies, real success stories, and actionable takeaways you can use right away.
